Volunteers are particularly needed for the day of the event (Saturday, May 11th) and the day before (Friday, May 10th). Activities include assisting at the informational and educational areas, helping direct parking, setting up and tearing down, and general gofer duties. If you have the time, we'll find a match for your skills! We are particularly in need of people to help out at the informational areas. We have a core of knowledgeable people who will be at each station, but they will need reliefs and occasional assistance. Additionally, volunteers are always needed on the second Saturday of each month [10:00 to 3:00] at the prairie restoration work parties sponsored by the Center for Natural Lands Management. Please send an email to Erin Acker, South Sound Volunteer Coordinator. If you wish to volunteer for Prairie Appreciation Day we would like at least a 1/2 day commitment. Please email Dennis Plank.
Financial Support: Direct financial support is always appreciated. Donation cans will be available at the event. If you should wish to send a donation in advance, please send it to the treasurer of Friends of Puget Prairies, Kathy Whitlock at FOPP, Box 155, Yelm, WA 98597. Please make checks payable to Friends of Puget Prairies. FOPP is registered as a non-profit organization with the State of Washington. We will never send you an email asking for financial support. If you receive one, please contact us so we can pursue whoever has compromised our website.
There is also a plant sale at the event featuring native prairie plants. Click the link below for planting instructions. We will also be selling notecards, T-shirts, and Hats at the event.
